One thing I accomplished over the summer, was getting Pride’s Pursuit up at Amazon! YAY. It is available now, AND Pride’s Run is up for FREE TODAY. Yes, that’s right FREE! Go grab … Read More »

Okay, so my life has been in a total chaotic mess for about two week now …and that started as soon as my son got home from university. He hasn’t been here long but wow, did he ever pick up some bad habits while he was away. Um, I’ve been teaching you to put the toilet seat down since you were old enough to use it, and what’s with all the dishes on the counter every morning. I haven’t been too hard on him though, since he’s leaving for Vietnam on Friday. Yes, he’s going to Vietnam! Half way around … Read More »
A few years back in the small community I grew up in, there were some ‘issues’ at our local high school. Apparently there was a fight between two girls and some say drugs were involved. A female police officer was called into the school and she rounded up the students involved as well as the girls who were in the vicinity or who’d watched the action unfold.
This officer brought the girls into the principal’s office one by one and apparently made them strip down to their underwear to determine if they were hiding any drugs. One girl, who was … Read More »
When I was in grade 11 I dated a guy who was a year older than me. We spent the entire school year together and eventually the school year ended and summer came and went. When I started grade twelve, he went off to college. It was a nearby college so we weren’t forced to deal with a long distance relationship. Regardless, because he was no longer a ‘high school student’ living the easy life, the dynamics of our relationship quickly changed.
Unlike when we were both in high school—living a fairly stress free life where we’d go out every … Read More »

Yesterday PJ Sharon was talking about her office space and it was timely for me because before I read her post, my hubby took pictures of my office space for one of my publishers newsletters. I think a lot of readers as well as other writers are interested in seeing where we spend most of our days creating out stories.
So I’m happy to be here today to share my Cat Kalen writer space with you all and tell you how I came upon such a terrific writing space!
Two and a half years ago we moved from the valley … Read More »

“Love” means never having to say you’re sorry
Whether you’re in a relationship with a BFF or a boy, this is a truism that simply isn’t, well, true. At some point in your life (probably many!) apologies will definitely be called for, and some will be easier to make than others.
The words I’m sorry have to be amongst the most difficult in the English language. They convey a lot of unspoken subtext. Sometimes they’re inadequate. Occasionally, they can be very powerful. But always, they should be delivered with sincerity.
I’m sorry you’re an idiot apparently doesn’t count.… Read More »
